Mayhew 1959 Journal Nov. 15 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. We arose at 0745 and ate breakfast. We began looking for lizards at 0935 in an area 1 mile west of Glamis. An adult Uma notata was seen immediately. Another was seen at 1020, but these were the only 2 seen in this location before we left it at 1030. The major plants at this location were: Olneya tesota Cercidium floridum Chilopsis linearis Larrea diviricata Eriogonum deserticola Oenothera deltoides (dry) Dicoria canescens (dry) We drove to our old collecting site 5 miles west of Glamis and began immediately to look for lizards. The dominant plants in this location are: Ephedra sp. Dicoria canescens (dry) Croton californicus Eriogonum deserticola Petalonyx thuberi Coldenia plicata Helianthus niveus (has been in bloom every month that we have been here). There are many annuals just emerging from the soil, especially at the bottom of hollows in the dunes.
