Mayhew 1959 Journal 110. Nov. 14 Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif. The dominant plants in the washes were: Acacia greggii Dalea spinosa Dalea Hymenoclea Salasla In the open areas, the plants were: Larrea divaricata Frauercia dumosa Palofoxia linearis Caldenia plicata Dicoria canescens (day) Oenothera deltoides (dry) Hilaria rigida (grass) In addition, numerous annuals are just emerging through the soil. We were unable to identify these. We left the area at 1340 and drove through the Pintos Mts. in Joshua Tree Natl. Monument to the Algodones Dunes, arriving there at 1730. Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. We drove down the Brawley - Glamis Road looking for reptiles. The only one found was an adult Crotalus cerastes that had just been hit by a car. We stopped looking at 1900 and set up camp 2 miles east of Glamis (our spot on Dune Crest Drive was occupied). Maximum temp. today was 82°F., minimum temp. tonight was 57°F. We drove 202 miles today.
