Mayhew 1959 Oct. 20 Palm Springs, Riverside Co., Calif. Cnemidophorus tigris at 1330. The last Uma seen today was at 1255. I have the feeling that the reptiles in the area are already in hibernation, even though the weather is quite nice for reptiles. I think the lack of food may possibly be the explanation for this condition. At 1345 I left the area and talked to Lloyd Tevis & Dr. J.M. Kolisch at Lloyd's house until 5 PM. Then Lloyd & I drove to UCR's desert station to check on Cal. Tech's mobile lab. I returned to UCR at 1920 after a trip of 172 miles. Oct. 23 Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
