96.
Sept. 11 Dale Dry Lake area, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
Our total catch for the trip was
92 animals of 10 species, as follows:
Uma inornata - 8 (5 ad m; 3 ad f)
Uma notata - 35 (13 ad m; 15 ad f; 2 im m; 4 im f; 1 im?)
Uma scoparia - 18 (6 ad m; 8 ad f; 1 im m; 3 im f)
Callisaurus draconoides - 5 (3 ad m; 2 ad f)
Urosaurus graciosa - 12 (9 ad m; 3 ad f)
Crotaphytus wislizeni - 1 (ad f)
Phrynosoma platyhrinos - 1 (ad m)
Cnemidophorus tigris - 2 (1 ad m; 1 ad f)
Uta stansburiana - 8 (6 ad m; 2 ad f)
Coleonyx variegatus - 2 (ad m)
Only 1 adult Dipso saurus dorsalis
was seen on the entire trip (at
Palm Springs). I was impressed with
the small number of immature Uma
of any species that we saw, &
the large number of recently
hatched Uma notata we saw, in
spite of the very dry year (driest
since 1882).
Sept. 14 Lovejoy Butte area, Los Angeles Co., Calif.

bit too early for lizards, so we rested
in the car until 0730. Then we began
to look for lizards. There was a
heavy rain here yesterday - puddles
are still standing and the surface
of the ground is wet. The lady
