Mayhew 1959 Journal 94. Sept. 10 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. Uma notata - 21 (9ad ♂; 9ad ♀; 1im ♂; 2im ♀) Urosaurus graciosa - 9 (6ad ♂; 3ad ♀) There were lots of recently hatched Uma notata around (28 seen this morning, as well as 2 newly hatched Cnemidophorus tigris), but very few immature-appearing animals. (Are all last year's animals now adults?) We ate lunch, then left the Coachella Canal Bridge at 1240. Dale Dry Lake area, San Bernardino Co., Calif. We reached this area at 1640. We started looking for lizards at 1650. Before dark we had captured: Uma scoparia - 8 (2ad ♂; 3ad ♀; 3im ♀) Urosaurus graciosa - 1 (ad ♂) Thus, 39 animals of 3 species were captured today in both areas. We also saw 4 recently hatched Uma scoparia this evening. We quit looking for lizards at 1810 (sunset at 1749). We drove 188 miles today. Maximum temp. today was 106°F, minimum temp. today was 81°F. Rain spatters awoke us periodically all night from 2300 on. Sept. 11 We arose at 0615. We began looking for lizards at 0815, and stopped looking for Uma scoparia at 1050. These animals were very
