5 mi. N.W. of 1000 Palms, Riverside Co., Calif.
while I drove along the road between
here and 1000 Palms looking for
animals. I found one Phrynosoma
m'calli, but that was all. Then we
collected lizards at station III
until 1200. During this time we
caught the following:
Phrynosoma m'calli - 1 (ad or)
Dipsosaurus dorsalis - 6 (2 ad or 1 ad f, 3 im?)
Cnemidophorus tigris - 2 (ad or)
Callisaurus draconoides - 1 (ad f)
Uma inornata - 20 (4 ad or, 10 ad f, 1?, 3 im or 2 im f,
Thus, 30 animals were caught at this site.
We left this station and proceeded
to the Algodones Dunes west of Glamis.
5 mi. W. of Glamis, Imperial Co., Calif.
We reached this area about 1730 and
drove slowly down the road looking
for animals that might have emerged
for an afternoon activity period. We
saw the first animal at 1730 at
the edge of the road. We stopped +
walked over the dunes until just
after sunset (1830). During that time
we caught the following animals:
Phrynosoma m'calli - 1 (ad or)
Uma notata - 16 (5 ad or, 7 ad f, 1 im or, 3 im f)
after dark we tried night collecting
between Glamis and the East Highline
Canal. However, all we captured were
