I left UCR at 0630 for the Deep Canyon Research Station, stopping at Rancho Mirage for Lloyd Tevis. As I was driving to Rancho Mirage I decided to go by way of the old highway from Garnet to 1000 Palms to see if I could find any Phrynosoma. I found 3 Phrynosoma ornalli and 2 Phrynosoma platyphiro on that 10 mile stretch of road between 0745 and 0815, after meeting Lloyd, we drove to the station. We located the spots along the road we felt should be graded!
