Mayhew 1959 Journal 63. June 11 5 mi. W. of Glamis, Imperial Co., Calif. we caught 40 animals in this area this trip, for a total so far of 79 animals kept (we released 3 ad. of Urosaurus graciosus and 2 im. ♀ Uma notata this morning). 1000 Palms area, Riverside Co., Calif. We reached the Indio area about 1730 and settled out until 1900 in the shade of some tamarisks just west of Dillon Road. Then we began night collecting at 1910 on the power line road where it crosses Dillon Road. We saw absolutely nothing as far as 1000 Palms. At 2015, 3 miles west of 1000 Palms, we found one young Phyllorhynchus decurtatus on the road, which we didn't try to catch. We finally caught one Colomys variegatus 5 miles west of 1000 Palms. This was the only other animal seen all night. We quit for the night at 2115. We drove 140 miles today. The minimum temp. tonight was 72° F, about 0230 a deputy sheriff awoke us to see what we were doing. It seems earlier in the evening someone had called the Sheriff's office about 2 suspicious looking characters camped near his residence (at least 1/2 mile away). June 12 We arose at 0515. At 0555, the air temp (30") was 27.0°C., at 1 cm. it was 25.4°C., soil temp. was 24.8°C., relative humidity was 28%. S.E. wind: 6-7 mph. We drove to "Granddaddy
