April 20 Davis campus, Univ. of Calif., Yolo Co., Calif.
An adult was seen sitting on the top of a drain pipe just under the eaves of Animal Science Building. The pipe is half way along the south wall of the north wing of the building. I first saw the bird yesterday, + removed the pellets at the base of the pipe. Today one pellet was found with 1 skull + several bones of a pocket gopher (Thomomys bottae).
April 21 Today I collected 3 pellets from this owl.
The contents were:
