Mayhew 1947 April 26 Knot Bay Farm Island, Alameda Co., Calif. At 6:45 A.M. several of this species were seen feeding along near the edge of the water. One individual was seen feeding on a high section of dry ground. The bill is much shorter than that of the Dowitcher, although the reddish breast is noticeable in both species.
