Western Flycatcher
Mayhew
1947
June 7
Strawberry Canyon, U.C. Campus, Alameda Co., Calif.
At 8:20 A.M. one individual was heard in a
Madrone just behind Bowles Hall. It has
a single, whistling note, higher pitched at
the end. In a moment it flew into a live
oak. It seemed to prefer the live oak area.
It uttered this single note about every
4 seconds.
