(cont.) herbage hairy; corolla light blue, with yellow or white crests at the throat; plants from 8 to 30 inches high. May 13 1433 Spruce St. Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. 16. Bellis perennis L. (Daisy) Herb found in lawn; grows to about 6 inches in height; rays white, disc yellow, sometimes rays tipped with purple; leaves basal; altitude 100 feet; herbage clammy. 17. Taraxacum vulgare (Lam.) Schrank (Dandelion) Herb found growing in the lawn; grows from 3 to 10 inches high; corollas yellow; 2 sets of inolucreal bracts, inner ones straight + erect; outer ones reflexed; leaves basal; altitude 100 feet. 18. Bromus rigidus Roth. ("Ripgut" Grass) Grass up to 30 inches high; open panicles; found growing irregularly with several other species of Graminae in an uncultivated piece of ground next to a fence in back of the house; altitude 100 feet. 19.
