Mayhew 1947 Aneides lugubris (Arboreal Salamander) L. May 10 Wildcat Canyon, Contra Costa Co., Calif. One was found under a rock along the stream south of the Tilden Park golf course club house. He was a small one about 4" long. Another was found a few minutes later under another rock. The temperature of the animal was 15.7°C, the temperature of the soil, which could have moisture squeezed from it, was 13°C. The air temperature 3' above the ground was 19.6°C.
