Wren - Tit Mayhew 1947 Mar. 1 Strawberry Canyon, U.C. campus, Alameda Co., Calif. At 1:40 P.M. one individual was seen feeding in a small oak about 10' from the ground, occasionally to the ground. It moved rapidly about the limbs. Its long, ragged+ forked tail and light brownish underparts were noticeable. It was feeding on the undersides of leaves, apparently on insects. It seemed to stay in the freshest areas available. Its song was something like: - - - mmmmm.
