Mayhew 1947 April 12 Strawberry Canyon, U.C. campus, Alameda Co., Calif. at 9:20 A.M. one individual was seen working in the branches of a pine about 8' above the ground. He would occasionally utter a few hasty notes, and his tail would bob at the same time. It seemed very restless, in that it remained on the move most of the time. June 7 Woolsey Canyon, Alameda Co., Calif. at 9:45 A.M. one was heard singing down in the canyon below us. Its song was something like this:(---). It also uttered some rather harsh chattering notes.
