Mayhew 1947 Mar. 1 Hermit Thrush Strawberry Canyon, U.C. Campus, Alameda Co., Calif. at 9:20 A.M. one individual was seen preening his feathers in the midst of a chaparral thicket. When he finished preening, he hopped off into the underbrush without giving any notes of any kind.
