Blue-winged Teal 2. Mayhew 1950 June 15 Conaway Ranch, 2 mi. east of Woodland, Yolo Co., Calif. boundary. They did not fly when we stopped, but slowly swam east along a row of tules growing in the middle of the ditch. In about 3 minutes they flew past us toward the west & settled in a clump of tule. July 13 A pair were seen swimming in the drainage ditch that forms the south boundary of the ranch about 1/2 mile east of the Poleline Bridge over road 102. There was no sign of young birds with them or in the area near-by. 1952 April 6 Chiles Ranch, 3mi. N.E. of Davis, Yolo Co., Calif. Frank Chiles reported that 2 Blue-winged Teal flew up from a pond directly in back of his barn. as he rode up on horseback, & dropped into another pond at the south end of his ranch. April 7 This evening Frank & I went looking for the two & he saw yesterday, but could not find any trace of them.
