The bird was a youngster of this year, & although it couldn't possibly have saten for a minimum of 40 hours, the bird flew off with no apparent difficulty. I turned it loose at the poleline bridge, 3 miles N.E. of Davis. It immediately joined the flock that was feeding around the bridge & was soon lost in the crowd. The bird was released at 4:45 Standard Time. June 8 Tonight, with the aid of drop nets, we caught 80 birds. Of this number, 14 had to be released without bands because we ran out of bands.
