Say Phoebe
Strawberry Canyon, U.C. campus, Alameda Co., Calif.
One individual was heard & later seen sitting cross-wise on the top wire of a fence. It moves its head rather continually, but doesn't seem as active as the Black Phoebe. From the back, one notices the dark tail & lighter colored back. It has a distinctive flip to the tail, spreading it with a quick movement, like the opening of a fan.
