483 Upper Redrock Lakes Aug. 17, 1934 Today, went out around East end of Upper Redrock Lakes over to Swan Parked, which was practically dry in company with Mr. Clarence E. Hunt and Mr. Archie Hayden. Mallard. 3 mallards were found death and 3 alive. Mr. Hunt dissected one dead mallard recently & found considerable shot in the gizzard. He feels that the mallards principally & other ducks too are dying of lead poisoning. B.D. Sear also says mallards are dying, but he does not know why. Swans. Sear says there are 3 pairs of swans with cygnets on Lower Redrock Lakes; one pair with 7, and 2 pairs each with 5. Mr. Hunt says he knows of 2 pairs of swans with cygnets on Upper Redrock Lakes, one pair with 5 and one with 7. All people interviewed say that Swan Parkers custodian Lakeview Gun Club, shot 9 swans last Fall & was not prosecuted because he swore they were Chinese Geese. Sear account of 17 swans having been killed last fall.
