4/6. moose habitat — extensive willow marshes with abundant grass. The region supports a great number of dravers [beavers] also. Numerous beaver ponds were seen just outside the park boundary in Thorofare valle[y]. They appeared to be occupied. The region is also good summer range. Girguoil is abundant in the grassy meadows. A few sagebrush flats were also encountered, But grass whether in the forest or the marshes or the meadows is much better than in the rest of the park, Buggley reports that mosquitos infest the area until the middle of August.
