Trip to W Ranch 26 miles, &

about 10 miles.
Nov. 4, 1930
Today we went in search of the antelope referred to by Harfilton.
The territory for 15 miles all around the ranch was open,
rolling grassland. Cattle & sheep graze this area. Water is very scarce, but sufficient to keep at least the 2000 head of cattle which we saw, & the 1400 sheep.
This is where the antelope range, but we saw none.
Dixon interviewed a workman at the ranch who said that he had once counted 156 antels in one herd about 3 years ago. This was all he would affirm. He further stated that antelopes are more scarce now than 10 years ago.
My impression is that the area we saw yesterday could be antelope range but is not materially so. These antelopes have stayed just
