403. From Mammoth, we drove to Canyon. 3 moose were seen in Triflow Park about 6:00 PM. Several elk were at Norris, and two bears seen between Norris and Canyon. Bears at the Canyon Feed Platform: Grizzlies: 3 lost yrs. cubs. 2 families with 3 cubs each 2 " " 2 " " 3 " " 1 cub 3 without cubs. Blacks: 6 without cubs. It was reported during the lecture that 5 sets of grizzly triplets have been seen at the show. The triplets of last year are the cubs of the grizzly shot for attacking fire watcher. This proves in one instance at least that they can care for them selves during the first winter without their mother. Two of them appears to be normal size; one is slightly smaller.
