The bears were very quiet; there was practically no fighting. Returning about 11:00 PM, we saw 2 does by the river just 5 miles west of Norris. August, 24, 1933, Trip to Game Preservation Ranch with Bagley & Bright. Most of the [illegible] land made available to the park by act of congress has been purchased and the fences & building destroyed. Bagley said that 5800 acres of the possible 7000 were now park property. Everywhere over this area are the unmistakeable signs of over-grazing. Grass is scarce & sagebrush if heavily taken. About 20 acres of wheat and mowed grasses (alsike clover, [illegible] Hungarian Brome & Timothy) have been planted where irrigation
