caught within half an hour. California gulls, both mature and young of the year, gathered in front of the camp. We visited both of the pelican nesting islands. They nested on both this year, which they have not done in several years. About 100 young pelicans swam afar. They cannot yet fly. Perhaps 75 adults were with them. Since no other adult pelicans have been seen, it is probable that they are fishing in Redrock Lake at this season of the year. Two Cormorants flew from the island at our approach. A Spotted Sandpiper and a Wilson Phalarope were just off shore. Several hundred Canada goose were seen in large flocks at the southeast arm and the Flat Mountain arm of the lake. They were in flocks of over a hundred each. No cranes or swans were seen or reported.
