397. with beaver trails, and bank burrows are numerous. Beavers must be in this region by hundreds. Their trails lead from the bank tracks into the willow thickets. The willows are eaten noticeably on both banks for a distance of about 50 ft. back from the river. Moose and elk trails are very numerous through the willows. Moose tracks were frequently encountered along the river. This is in reality a moose and elk paradise. Grass is abundant throughout the willow patches. Bromers, Grass grass, wheat grass, Redtop and possibly Poa were seen. There were others as well as Quinquefoil wild geranium and juniperus unidentified weeds. Black bear tracks frequently encountered. Aug. 19 1933. Last night we fished in the west bay at south end of the arm. 5 spotted trout from 12-14 inches long, in good condition & not worm infected were
