370. These bands of antelope range near Petrefied Forest about 6-8 mths. of the year. In winter they move southward toward the higher lands nearer the 21 Suite Mtns. It is apparently warmer there -- this being a cold pocket. Charlie Cooley, an Apache Indian in Hillbrook, says the antelope have held aloft their same numbers for the last 30 years. Mrs. Smith - 1929 in late May two antelope does dropped fawns at waterhole just inside southeast corner. In 1932 in late March, Smiths, Tll & La Combe saw the band of 38. There were two fawns then. Mr. Turnbull says that antelope eat his rock salt.
