Between Fredonia & Pipe Spring:
Fallugia paradoxa - in bloom, common
Ambrosia sp. - common
Atriplex canescens - in bloom, abundant
Chrysothamnus spp. - abundant
Antennaria trichotata - abundant
Soco weed - seeded, abundant
Grasses (slender wheat, bunch grasses and others) - common
Juniperus utahensis - locally
The range, as everywhere north & west of the plateau, is good at this season but the undesirable forage plants (resultant from over-grazing) are abundant everywhere.
Birds seen on the whole trip:
1. Montezuma horned lark - abundant
2. Resident Sparrow - common
3. Sargo sparrow - common
4. Chestnut-backed bluebird - rare
5. Western robin - few
6. Shrikes - common
7. Mourning dove - common
8. Vesper Sparrow - few
9. Lousebird Solitaire - few
10. Mountain bluebird - abundant
11. Prairie Falcon - rare
12. Western red-tailed hawk - rare
13. Meadow lark - common
