358. Antelope never came up to Canyon, didn't come as far as Morse place. Plenty on Cataract Canyon to along little Colorado in winter. Didn't come into cedars. Used to come near Little Point tank & into old burn area north of WA ranch. Sheep herders get them. Cougars were few here then. Not so many now. Bobcats were plentiful along breaks & canyon or rims, not so many now. Coysters more abundant than foxes (gray) were abundant. Still plenty of foxes. Rabbits (Cottontails) plentiful on rims, jackas further breaks. Don't know what has become of cottontails but are scarce now. Predators are not responsible for fewer deer at present. Hogan thinks it is more hunting. Turkeys! John Hayse saw 2 gobbler near Graged View about 18/90. Thinks these two were transients. Food: juniper berries, pinon nuts, acorn, insects etc - plenty of food but thinks they wouldn't stay here because no water.
