They are not as abundant as former
when the Kents first came. At that
time they used to see them almost
daily.
Trappers also report getting
Gray Foxes & Kit Foxes, badgers a
few, bobcats a few. Squirrels,
apparently the little spotted, are
numerous.
Cougars used to be bothersome
in Mt. Drumbull but have been
so diminished that they are no
longer hunted.
Prairie dogs not found north
of the river. Jack Rabbits & Cotton-
tails were very abundant until
about 3 yrs. ago when they seemed
to disappear almost at once.
However, A Mr. White, 7 miles north
of here reports Jack Rabbits as
damaging garden crops.
Mourning Doves plentiful. We
saw a flock of 5 this afternoon
by Father Kent's place. Gambel? Quail
reported common here at times.
The Bio Survey has not been
poisoning in the valley for 4-5 yrs,
although they are still operating on
the territory we crossed before getting
to the valley.
