349. They are not as abundant as former when the Kents first came. At that time they used to see them almost daily. Trappers also report getting Gray Foxes & Kit Foxes, badgers a few, bobcats a few. Squirrels, apparently the little spotted, are numerous. Cougars used to be bothersome in Mt. Drumbull but have been so diminished that they are no longer hunted. Prairie dogs not found north of the river. Jack Rabbits & Cotton- tails were very abundant until about 3 yrs. ago when they seemed to disappear almost at once. However, A Mr. White, 7 miles north of here reports Jack Rabbits as damaging garden crops. Mourning Doves plentiful. We saw a flock of 5 this afternoon by Father Kent's place. Gambel? Quail reported common here at times. The Bio Survey has not been poisoning in the valley for 4-5 yrs, although they are still operating on the territory we crossed before getting to the valley.
