Thompson 78 Grand Canyon Down in the canyon of boars. (The) The older antelopes have just lost their horns. The tips are beginning to enlarge for the new set. These antelopes are feed grain in a trough. They do not seem to wander far from Indian Gardens, & they are very tame. There are 17 now. Some reports hold that Bob-cats get the young. The summer heat is very oppressive down in the canyon. This range is probably too low for antelopes. We saw 2 bobcat tracks down in the canyon: one about half way down on the hermit trail, & the other at ? Hermit Cabins the morning after our stay. Coyote tracks were seen oftener than any
