333. West Kaibab Deer Range March 6, 1933. Today we rode over the jumpup pasture, from the cabin, west to the Point, then north along the points on Kaibab Creek & then diagonally back to Camp. The whole range is very poor, heavily browsed, much of Cowania killed, what remains is scarce and heavily browsed. Juniper & sage constitute the most of it. There appears to be no recovery anywhere. This is the worst we've seen in the three days ride. 2 Jacks Rabbits seen 2 Bald Eagles (immature or else golden Eagles). Jump Up to Little Springs, March 7, 1933 The range seen today showed very little recovery, as a whole, and out on many of the points it appeared to show no recovery. Everywhere the plant composition is the same, except that perhaps more Cowania was around Slide. Four recently dead deer were seen by us & 1 by the other parties. Coyote tracks were all around the carcasses, and perhaps 10 other tracks were seen. Last night
