Grand Canyon
Down in the Canyon.
intervals all along the trail even down along the inner plateau. Two bucks & three does were seen at Indian Garden.
The bucks did not have very large antlers.
All were in good condition.
Many deer spent winter in the canyon. There was water every 3 or 4 miles, & enough although not abundant forage.
Big Horn Mt. Sheep. Sheep are reported in the Canyon. We saw one trikele, & several droppings.
Antelope. The antelopes were introduced at Indian Gardens. They have shed approximately 1/2 the original number until last year when 2 fawns out of 8 lived and this year 4 out of 6.
The fawns of the year have small nothules
