Reference Eagle Lake 322. August 29, 1932 Have just had a short talk with Prof. Harding of the Irrigation Dept. He was at Eagle Lake for 2 days in the latter part of June this summer. He reports seeing only about 25-30 white pelicans on the old nesting ground which is now connected with the mainland. He saw no nests nor young anywhere around the lake. It is planned to continue draining the lake until its area is approximately 3000 acres in order to cut down the loss of water due to evaporation. Both the incoming water supply & the lake water are being used for irrigation. He sees no future for pelican nesting colonies at Eagle Lake. Reference Dolaho Sept. 5, 1932 On July 31, 1932 I saw Bill Purkh in Yellow stone. He had just returned from Dolaho & gave the following account: Selway National Forest Dolaho, about 8000 deer, and 7000-8000 elk. Clear Water, N.F. Dolaho, about 2000 elk. Mt. goats also abundant.
