Tompson Malheur Lake Oregon 316. Aug. 3, 1932 Arrived at Harrows 6:00 PM. By the bridge were: Wildon Phalarope 100+ Costa + young 150 Mallard + young 2 families Killdeer 30 Avocets 6 Yellow-headed Blackbirds 100+ Egret 1 Driving to Benson's I saw hundreds of young Sage Phalarope & Kingbird as well as Brewer Blackbirds. Many Black Crowned Night Horses (about 30) have flown toward the lake since sunset. 1/ pair of Sandhill Cranes heard near Tensays. About 200 ducks fly toward lake about 9: PM, unidentified but probably Mallards & Gadwalls. Night hawkes & Burrowing Owls abundant. In the spring at Benson's have seen stilt, Yellow legs & some kind of sandpiper. Benson has pictures of Whistling Swans here in migration. He says often seen the yellow patch on their hill.
