Mammoth to Seebe 314. Tompson July 27, 1932 Today George Bagley & I drove to Lake. We used Carbon disulphide in a Pyrene gun on one bear & her cubs. At first they showed no effects but in about half a minute they began running wildly through the woods, pawing and shaking their heads. Apparently it hurt their eyes. In a few minutes they showed no ill effects & went about their foraging as though nothing had happened. Four bears have been killed at Fishing Bridge. It is decided to kill about 3-4 more. Thumb, 1 killed, 3 to be killed Q.F. 1 " , 3-5 more to be killed Canyon 9 " , 2-3 " " " The feeding of 100-200 lbs. of rolled oats to the bears at Canyon is to be discontinued in order to see what affect such measure has.
