Old Faithful to Mammoth 312. Trumps on July 28, 1932 some discomfort. But those which were sprayed more than once returned to the car within a few minutes, which event occasioned the second and even the third spraying. The experiment still seems to be a failure. In covering this portion of the loop road we encountered 23 bears. Their distribution was as follows: Thiefule, 6 adults, 2 cubs Lakes, 3 adults. Fishing Bridge, 5 adults, 2 cubs Canyon 5 adults. At 'Fishing Bridge the bear situation has sufficiently become aggravated. There have been so many raids that the campers are in an uproar. A petition, signed by more than 40 of the permanent campers, requesting that bears be shot, or else the camp ground fenced was presented to the superintendent. Last night some camper shot a bear in the camp ground. The camper who did the shooting has not been identified! The wounded bear, a very large
