In the public camp: 11:58 AM: a couple with 2 children, teen age, are feeding the mother with 1 blk & 1 brown cub, and are enticing it upon the table in order to get pictures. The children are ordered & boosted about by the mother in order to make them stand beside the bear, which are on the table. The father is warning them not to get too close, or the mother is telling them to get closer because there is no danger. They had fed the bears with a few minutes before. The picture is finally taken. Dr. Oatler came from Old Faithful to Thumls with Dr. Bynpax: They got saw 17 black bears cubs between Faithful & Thums. As Dr. Oatler & I drove back to Mammoth we saw about 8 more along the road, exclusive of those in the settlements.
