Sale 305 July 23, 1932 on their way to the feeding across the river. This afternoon I saw a small black (later trapped) destroy a camper's food supply. A small brown was also seen in the camp ground. There were the only bears I saw in the camp ground. There are about 180 teartlets & many dogs, in the camp. They show that they have not been bothered to any extent. In the housekeeping quarters the following were seen: 1 adult brown with 1 brown & 1 black cub. 1 " black with 2 black cubs. 1 young adult brown (about 3-4 yrs. old) at the incinerator 6:30 P.M. 1 grizzly wandered in but was chased afoully by a very large old black. Two other blacks were present - one was only 3 yrs. old. Elliot seems to know his situation here thoroughly & will remove only such bears as are actually dangerous. The sets of cubs in the housekeeping quarters are very gentle. Everyone goes around them & the adults don't seem to care. A total of 9 adults & 4 cubs have been seen since departures Sale about 4:00 P.M.
