Canyon 303. 7/21/1932 11:30 AM One black at incinerator besides the black with 3 cubs. 1 black, 1 brown, & 1 2 yr. old keeps at housekeeping & camp ground. All is quiet apparently, but all of these are still cruising for food! Total, 5 adults & 3/cubs in immediate vicinity. Just killed 1 large black this morning, & hope to get the brown & a black this afternoon. July 22, 1932 Canyon 11:30 AM. Have just arrived from Mammoth. On short tour of camp ground, I find that the situation is practically the same this morning as it was yesterday. There were 27 parties in the camp last night. Most of them were gone by noon, &t of those I talked with, all but one had suffered property damage to no sleep. After I were able to tell me of about 5 cases of property damage. The large brown with 2 black cubs was reported as the main offender. At the incinerator there are: 1 brown, 1 black, & the family of 3 cubs. The custodian says he notices fewer bears this A.M.
