Canyon Falls 298. Thompson July 17, 1932. the next tent, 7:00 o'clock. Every garbage can was emptied of food as fast as it was thrown out. One cabin occupant was seen to feed the bear through the window. Another party fed one peanut in order to get into picture. Neither of these parties had had any difficulty yet. At 1:30 P.M. a representative of the housekeeping cabins came in and reported 9 cabins injured since 8:00 P.M. last night. Cabins numbered 31, 65, 77, 45, 69, 135, 136, 82, 114. Report reads, "breaking of entering all nine cabins, tearing canvas & boards." Food was in all cabins except 135. Bears frequenting the area were 3 brown and 1 black. 8 cabins were torn the day before yesterday. 39 cabins have been torn this season, and 3 cars belonging to housekeeping guests. Tower Falls The garbage from Tower Falls vicinity is hauled down toward the Yellowstone river between the Coote City Road & the main loop road. The edible parts of it are fed to the bears there on a table.
