Canyon
Thompson
292.
July 18, 1932:
The apparently sleep there all day when
not eating. At night they go
down by the hotel & beg for food.
The cook may feed them small
meat & other food; I suggested to
them that such practice might
bring difficulties next year.
Returning past the hotel, I saw
the same bears bear seen July 6th
and 14th.
Pryor's Store.
The garbage is kept in a
shed where it is not accessible
to bears. It is collected when
necessary. Occasionally a bear
comes to the back of the store
but it is driven away by the
employees. This spring a couple of
grizzlies broke into the store &
flub things up rather badly.
Canyon Lodge.
The garbage is also kept indoors.
This year it is in the kitchen. A
few bears hang around occasionally
but not to any extent.
