One of the grizzlies with 3 cubs (and I think the one with the white cub) charged me from the feeding platform. He climbed trees to escape. Dr. Baxter was almost dragged out of the tree before he could get out of reach. One toe had to be amputated and the rest of his foot was slightly injured. The bear roared as she charged & fought, and reared up as high as she could to drag him out. In a few seconds she fled, so did every bear at the platform.
He left the feeding station immediately. The attack was unprovoked except that we were standing in an unusual place.

The cubs often wander up around the ends of the ramp toward the audience, at which time the mother grizzly becomes frightened & more
