Molly Island 281. July 12, 1932. than the young pelicans. Two guil[ls] daved last time were found dead on the island. Many guilf nests still had clean eggs. The 4 corcororbits, still unidentified, flew off the island at our approach; it could not find their nests nor young. Compton Crook counted 14 Caspian Terns for the island. 7 nests were counted: 1 nest with 2 eggs 1 .. " 3 eggs rest with 1 egg 1 nest with 1 newly hatched young; After leaving the island we rowed over to the mainland south & west. About 100 Barrows Goldeneye were in the bay. Canada Geese - about 50. 3 Marbled Godwits? flew over Pelican Island about 4:30 P.M. They were not seen again. Several pairs of Spotted Sandpipers are on Pelican Island just! Fish are abundant in these bays around the islands. We caught 7 in about 2 hours. They were good eating. Crooke & Anderson found a white-footed mouse with 6 young (furred, 1/2 grown) in a storm nest under a log on Pelican Island. She ran away with 4 young hanging to her teats. The nest was empty the next morning.
