kills the beetles, at about 85.0
Elk range sometimes down
in the Union Tp. area. There
were some grass areas, but
not extensively.
Some Plorquinie scars were
seen.
Mr. Fort Hubbard said
that Grizlys were abundant
here at one time. The last
one was killed about 1885.
Elk he said, were exterminated
here about 1890. He called
them the "Sine-back Elk."
Wolves & Cougars were also
abundant at one time, but
have been systematically
hunted & trapped by state
trappers.
Deer are more abundant
than 10 years ago, but are
far fewer than in the
early days of this region.
