Barn Swallow (collecting mud for nests) Tree Swallow Pine Siskin Pileated Harbler [Pileolated] Vesper Sparrow Great Blue Heron Sea Gull Meadow Lark Sugar says the pelicans do not nest in the region but that thousands begin to come in each season about this time; he does not know where they nest, I can't understand where thousands could come from either. 1 mammoth seen. Sugar reports that about 60 badgers [illegible] were taken from the vicinity last winter. Also, many coyotes. He saw no deer nor elk all entire day. Cattle raising is the main industry of the region.
