The day started wonderfully sunny but a hard hail storm came up about 2:00PM just as we were leaving the lake. Hail balls were about 1/2 inch long, and were drive[n] by a hard wind. Our trip by boat was from Lake Station to Clear Creek Fish Traps, to Molly Island & return direct. The Fish traps were just being installed at Clear Creek. At Molly Islands, the pelicans were nesting on Gull Island this year, whereas they nested on Pelican Island last year. It is reported that they vary between these islands from year to year. No eggs had hatched yet. A census of the birds & nests of the island revealed the following: Birds Pelican Nests occupied 126 (3 of those nests contained 4 eggs each) Canada Geese 1 Gull Island 5 4 3 1 Eggs 232
