as that of the Calif. Thrasher. Once when
the two were on a rock, each raised
its
his wings slightly over his back & bowed
to the other then stretched its head
high. This bow was performed by both
birds about 3 times in succession, then
not seen again.
The Trumpeter Swans were at their
nest when we arrived (about 9:00 AM.)
One bird was sitting with head tucked
under wings. The other was feeding
nearby. As soon as we started down
toward the lake both birds left
the nest & hid in the tules. When
we left the lake about 12:30 one
away was back on the nest.
Wright saw a male Javager at
Yellowstone Bridge. The Arnolds reported
seeing one a week ago. This is the
first record we have this year.
