The badger was watched from
11:45 to 12:30. It was first seen near
the Lamar River Bridge hunting in
the grass near the river bank.
It was digging here and there in
these grabs. When it saw me it
came toward me until within 100 ft.
of the car. Then after much dissemble,
it scurried up the road for about
¼ mile, then ran off the road about
150 yards into the sagebrush. From
trine to time while scurrying, or galloping
it held its tail erect as a should will
do. At they laid down by its burrow
and appeared to sleep. A small bird
jumped up on the dirt near the burrow,
and the two watched intently for
each other.
