205 Thompson Yosemite March 21, 1932 the Lynx are their worst enemies. Pinon Jays this last winter were very abundant around the camp. I think 1000 of them. Stayed in flocks. Not seen before. Mr. Gandisi saw a large hawk (Copper Hawk?) get away a King Fisher one evening. The hawk seemed to be gaining on the King Fisher, but they finally flew out of sight. Waterfowl abundant in high mountains. Years ago there weren't any. About 10 years ago over in the Sawtooth range Mr. P. saw a Lynx? which did not run when the Airdale dog took after it. It showed no fear of dog. But growled quite a lot. Ducks on Mono Lake disappearing fast. Used to be on Mono Lake for 2 weeks in fall by the thousands. Mostly Spoonbill, some Mallard. Roadrunner seen by Mono Lake about 2 yrs ago. Lots of Swipe & Neldivers on Mono Lake latter part of Sept.
